Hidden gem: concerts at Dana Hall. Free parking, intimate venue– just a big room with tall windows and a nicely live acoustic. You can be close enough to catch the nuances of physical communication between the players–the glances, leans, nods and smiles– as well as the gorgeous sound. This is the Wellesley Chamber Players rehearsing for a Beethoven and Dvorak concert on a sunny Sunday afternoon. I shot the dress rehearsal and then just enjoyed the performance. (with Jayoung Kim, piano; Wenhong Luo, viola; Danny Koo, violin; Sasha Scolnik-Brower, cello.) The upcoming concert sounds promising too: May 7, with Fauré and two pianos, among other delectables.
